AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING AND AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING

Both the courses have a huge demand.Both fields are vital to the aviation industry, ensuring the safe design, operation, and maintenance of aircraft.

  • AMEs Maintenance, inspection, and repair of aircraft on the other hand aeronautical Engineering: Design, research, and development of aircraft.
  • Aircraft maintenance engineers require licensing from aviation authorities. In Aeronautical Engineering is certification  and a degree is required to work in the field.
  • Aircraft maintenance engineer work is related to  Technician roles with hands-on maintenance.Aeronautical Engineers work is related to  Research, design, and testing.

What Are the Key Responsibilities of an AME?

Aircraft maintenance engineering(AME) is a specialized program where graduates certify aircraft airworthiness before each flight and post-repair.  Aircraft maintenance engineering is about technical skills and practical experience.They issue flight release certificates for components after major or minor fixes. AMEs are the world’s highest-paid engineers due to rapid industry growth. 

Eligibility Criteria

The minimum qualification for admission to the course is :-

i. 10+2 pre-degree/intermediate or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry / B.Sc with Maths, Physics & Chemistry.

ii. Diploma in Engineering

The Key Responsibilities of an AME

  • To perform examinations on a daily basis to ensure the aircraft is in good condition.
  • Conduct preventative ,conservation and repairs and repairs grounded and schedule.(e.g.A-Check,B-Check,C-Check,D-Check)
  • Replace or repair defective factors like machines, landing gear, thickets, avionics, and hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical,hydraulic,electrical and structural issues of aircraft.
  • Use technical individual tools and equipment to identify problems.
  • Work with complex avionics systems to ensure all electronic and communication systems are performing appropriately.
  • Ensure all conservation work complies with aeronautics non supervisory bodies similar as   as((directorate general of civil aviation) governing authorities.
  • Update and manage logbooks as per the regulatory standards to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Certifying the airworthiness of an aircraft after completing maintenance or repairs by signing off on logbooks and maintenance records.
  • Ensuring that the aircraft meets the required safety standards before flight.
  • Working nearly with other aeronautics professionals, similar as aviators, ground crew, and other conservation staff, to ensure all conservation procedures are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Communicating with manufacturers or engineering brigades to address complex mechanical or specialized issues.
  • Conducting flight tests or working with aviators to estimate the aircraft’s performance after conservation.
  • Clinging to Safety Procedures rigorously following safety protocols during conservation work, both for particular safety and the safety of others.
  • Ensuring all tools and outfit are duly used and maintained.

The responsibilities of an AME are crucial for ensuring the safe operation of aircraft and the safety of passengers and crew.
